Why I’m supporting the Huggies Tiniest Footprint Mission #AD

I’m always trying to be more environmentally conscious, especially as a mummy, who knew someone so small could produce so much waste?

However, as a new (ish) parent, I’ve found that I’m more stretched now than ever before – juggling motherhood, work, maintaining a relationship, seeing friends, housework, working out, remembering to drink my two-three litres of water a day, the list really is never ending isn’t it?! Another thing that’s been playing on my mind recently, is the environmental impact of parenting – and its effect on future generations.

I’m always on the lookout for simple yet effective daily changes, such as using a reusable water bottle when out and about, as well as recycling where possible. However, one thing I am trying to be more conscious of specifically is the environmental impact of baby wipes.

I’m always very realistic about what changes I can physically make, and right now, I’ll hold my hands up and say that I don’t have the time to move over completely to reusable wipes – my laundry basket is never ending as it is! However I’m always on the look out for affordable and more sustainable baby wipes, which is why it’s so good to see bigger brands taking positive steps towards eliminating plastic and becoming more environmentally friendly.

That’s why I’m proud to be supporting Huggies on their ‘Tiniest Footprint’ mission, who within the next five years (or sooner!) has pledged to completely eliminate plastic from its baby wipe range in the UK, meaning all of its wipes and packaging will be 100% recyclable. Their wipes currently contain 65% natural fibres, so they’re already well on their way to achieving this goal!

So what can we do to help Huggies Wipes on its Tiniest Footprints Mission?

  • Head over to the Huggies Wipes site to check out the ways in which you can support its mission, including information on recycling

  • Switch to Huggies over other leading brands, and by doing so, each parent can lower their plastic usage by the equivalent of 63 plastic bottles a year, which is such a positive start!

The Tiniest Footprints Mission is definitely a positive step in the right direction – aiming to provide the gentlest skincare for babies, whilst leaving the smallest environmental impact possible.

For the change to win a one-month supply of Huggies Wipes, head over to my Instagram. You can find the full T&C’s here.

Do you find yourself being environmentally conscious as a mummy? I’d love to hear…
